Akira joined us from Eure, NC. She had one gorgeous litter of puppies with Yukon, but due to some complications with the litter we thought it was best to retire her. We still have her daughter Cali at Celtic Acres.
I was shocked to learn that the family (Brandi & Kevin Orbanus) that adopted her from us, sold her to someone else who dumped her in a shelter. Luckily she was only in the shelter a few days when a husky rescue brought her under their care. She is now with a wonderful family who have 3 children. We have now added new stipulations in our adoption contract to help ensure this does not happen again. All of our dogs are welcome back to Celtic Acres at any time if a family can no longer care for them.

Hi Bridget,
Thank you for taking the time to send me all the photos of Akira. Yesterday a very nice family adopted her. They have 3 children who think she is "a cool dog" . They had a rescue sibe for 12yrs and she recently passed away so they have experience with the Siberian breed. I will be keeping in touch with them to provide support as needed. It is very quiet here today. My 3 are exhausted!! Akira was a superb foster and we will all miss her.
