After quite a bit of research and reading about what ingredients actually go into commercial dog foods (even some of the most expensive brands in the market), we decided to switch our Siberian Huskies over to a “Raw” diet and have noticed a dramatic difference in the health, appearance, and general well-being of our dogs.
The basic principle is to feed a diet that the animals have evolved to eat, or to put it another way AS NATURE INTENDED.
We feel that this is the best possible diet available for our Siberian Huskies. We do understand that people may have concerns about the diet and/or just don't feel that feeding a "Raw" diet is the best alternative for their dogs. We are also happy to recommend alternative organic pre-made dry and canned pet foods as well as provide information on different "Cooked" diets for dogs.
We also started our huskies on Nu-Vet Supplements to ensure that they get all of the proper vitamins and minerals to keep them healthy.

All of our dogs are vaccinated against Rabies, Distemper (DHLPP + Corona), Lyme, Giardia, and Bordetella. We feel these vaccines are essential for their health. They are also given Ivermectin monthly to prevent heartworm, wormed with Nemex every 6 months to prevent other internal parasites, and treated with a monthly flea and tick preventative.
I have listed a recommended Vaccination Schedule below:
Puppies (6 weeks to 1 year)
6 – 8 weeks………. first puppy shot (DHLPP) + Corona
11 –12 weeks……. second puppy shot (DHLPP) + Corona
15-16 weeks……… third puppy shot (DHLPP) + Corona
over 4 months…… Rabies (repeat 1 year later)
7-9 months……… first heartworm test
Adult Dogs (after 1 year)
DHLPP…… Yearly
Heartworm Test……Yearly
Rabies……. Every three years (after 2nd shot)
Optional Vaccines- talk to your vet about whether they feel these are necessary for your geographical area.
Lyme…… Yearly
Giardia……Yearly
Bordetella…..6 Month-Yearly
